Travelling by train doesn’t have to be expensive. Railcards and passes can help to save money on tickets. Find out more below.

National railcards

You can save up to a third on many British train tickets by buying a National Railcard, with a selection to chose from:

  • 16-25 Railcard – for young people aged 16 to 25
  • 26-30 Railcard – for those aged between 26 and 30
  • Senior Railcard – for those aged 60 and over
  • Two Together Railcard – two named people can travel together and save
  • Disabled Persons Railcard – if you have a disabillity that makes travelling by train difficult, you may qualify for this Railcard
  • Family & Friends Railcard – up to 4 adults and 4 children can travel on one card

All Line Rover

If you plan to explore Britain extensively by train, consider an All Line Rover for unlimited travel on most trains for 7 to 14 days. Local and region Rovers are also available, see the full list here.

Another option for non-UK residents who plan to do a lot of train travel during their stay, is the BritRail Pass. Find more information here.
